Upon inspecting my Audi S7's stock oil filter housing, it became evident that it wasn't resilient to the rigors of heat cycling. It struck me as peculiar that Audi opted for plastic in such a critical location. During my last oil change, several of the plastic clips securing the filter in the OEM housing broke off. Clearly, having these fragments potentially drawn into the engine is a scenario one would want to avoid.
