Overview
The stock center support bearing carrier holds the driveshaft in place with rubber so thin that approximately 20 lbs of force moves it from center to the end of its travel. While that flexibility helps isolate NVH from the cabin, the stock bushing is extremely prone to failure — especially in harsher climates and on higher-powered vehicles. When the bushing fails, excessive vibrations and clunking follow, placing the transmission and rear differential at serious risk of damage. Compounding the problem, the stock carrier is molded directly onto a non-serviceable center support bearing, meaning failure typically results in costly full driveshaft replacement rather than a simple bushing swap.
This upgraded carrier keeps the driveshaft firmly centered at all times. Its polyurethane construction ensures the bushings will never wear out, maintaining consistent driveshaft alignment across all driving conditions. Custom isolator bushings separate the carrier from the vehicle body and mounting hardware, substantially reducing NVH levels compared to a solid mount — available in two compound options to suit street or track use.

Features & Benefits
Eliminates Stock Carrier FailureReplaces the failure-prone OEM rubber carrier with a durable polyurethane unit that will not degrade over time, regardless of climate or power level.
Maintains Precise Driveshaft AlignmentThick polyurethane bushings prevent the driveshaft from moving off-center, preserving drivetrain geometry under all load conditions.
Protects Transmission & Rear DifferentialEliminates the excessive vibration and clunking associated with bushing failure, reducing wear and potential damage to downstream drivetrain components.
Custom Isolator Bushing DesignProprietary isolators separate the carrier from the vehicle body and mounting hardware, delivering substantially lower NVH levels than a solid-mount solution.
Two Bushing Options for Street or TrackStreet and Track compounds are both included and fully interchangeable, allowing the driver to tune NVH vs. drivetrain rigidity to suit their application.
Serviceable Bearing DesignUnlike the OEM carrier which is molded onto a non-serviceable bearing, this upgraded unit allows future servicing, avoiding costly full driveshaft replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the stock center support bearing carrier fail so often?
The OEM carrier uses very thin rubber bushings that require only around 20 lbs of force to move the driveshaft from center to the limit of its travel. This rubber degrades over time — particularly in harsh climates or on higher-powered vehicles — eventually allowing the driveshaft to move out of alignment, causing vibration, clunking, and potential drivetrain damage.
What makes the polyurethane bushings better than the stock rubber bushings?
Polyurethane is significantly more resistant to heat, ozone, and physical wear than the OEM rubber compound. The upgraded bushings are also substantially thicker, holding the driveshaft firmly on center rather than allowing the movement that leads to vibration and component wear.
Will this upgrade cause noticeable NVH or cabin noise on my street car?
The Street bushing option absorbs the majority of drivetrain NVH. Some light humming may be audible at certain speeds, but with a modified exhaust or the windows down it is generally inaudible. The custom isolator bushings that separate the carrier from the chassis play a key role in keeping NVH to a minimum.
What is the difference between the Street and Track bushing options?
The Street bushings prioritize a balance of drivetrain rigidity and NVH isolation, making them suitable for daily driving and spirited street use. The Track bushings are a no-compromise option focused entirely on maximum drivetrain performance, and may transmit a substantial amount of noise into the cabin. Both compounds are interchangeable, so you can switch between them as needed.
Does this carrier allow the center support bearing to be serviced or replaced?
Yes. Unlike the OEM carrier, which is molded directly onto a non-serviceable bearing and requires full driveshaft replacement when it fails, this upgraded carrier is designed to allow future bearing servicing — significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.
