Overview
The stock center support bearing carrier holds the driveshaft in place with rubber so thin about 20 lbs of force moves it from center to the end of its travel. While that's great for making sure no NVH makes it to the cabin, the stock bushing is extremely prone to failure, especially in harsher climates and on higher-powered cars. When the bushing lets go, it leads to excessive vibrations and clunking which can damage the transmission and rear diff. To make matters worse, the stock carrier is molded onto the non-serviceable center support bearing, leading to costly driveshaft replacement.
This upgraded unit keeps the driveshaft firmly in place at all times, and its polyurethane construction ensures it will never wear out. The thick bushings ensure the driveshaft cannot move from center, maintaining driveshaft alignment at all times.

Features & Benefits
Eliminates Driveshaft MovementThick polyurethane bushings keep the driveshaft locked at center at all times, maintaining proper driveshaft alignment under all driving conditions.
Polyurethane Construction — Won't Wear OutUnlike the factory rubber carrier, the polyurethane build is impervious to the degradation that causes stock units to fail, particularly in harsh climates and on high-powered vehicles.
Protects Transmission & Rear DifferentialBy preventing the excessive vibrations and clunking caused by a failed stock carrier, this upgrade shields the transmission and rear diff from costly collateral damage.
Custom Isolator Bushings Reduce NVHAfter extensive design iterations, custom isolator bushings were developed to separate the carrier from the vehicle body and mounting hardware, substantially reducing NVH transfer to the cabin.
Two Interchangeable Bushing OptionsChoose Street bushings for maximum NVH absorption on daily-driven cars, or Track bushings for uncompromising drivetrain rigidity — and swap between them any time.
Avoids Costly Driveshaft ReplacementThe stock carrier is molded onto a non-serviceable bearing, making any failure a full driveshaft replacement. This serviceable upgrade eliminates that risk entirely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the stock center support bearing carrier fail so often?
The stock carrier uses very thin rubber bushings that require only about 20 lbs of force to move the driveshaft from center to the end of its travel. This rubber is highly susceptible to degradation over time, particularly in harsh climates and on higher-powered cars, making failure a common and well-documented issue.
What happens if I ignore a failing stock carrier?
A failed stock carrier allows the driveshaft to move out of alignment, causing excessive vibrations and clunking. Left unaddressed, this can lead to serious damage to both the transmission and the rear differential — repairs that are significantly more expensive than replacing the carrier itself.
Which bushing option should I choose — Street or Track?
The Street bushings absorb most drivetrain NVH and are the best choice for daily-driven or dual-purpose vehicles. The Track bushings are designed for no-compromise drivetrain rigidity and may produce substantial cabin noise. If you're unsure, the two options are fully interchangeable, so you can try both and decide.
Will I notice any NVH increase with the Street bushings?
Some light NVH is possible at certain speeds in the form of a soft hum. In practice, if your car has a modified exhaust or you're driving with the windows down, you'll likely never notice it.
Does this fit both the CTS-V and STS-V?
Yes. This center support bearing carrier upgrade is designed to fit both the 1st Generation Cadillac CTS-V and STS-V.
